Brief History of School

APS Dhar Road was established as Shishu Mandir in 1978 and on 01 July 1980 it is being managed and administered by School Administration and Management Committee (SAMC). It was then known as the Army Primary School. During the Academic session 2007-08 it was upgraded to secondary level and obtained CBSE affiliation. School was awarded Northern Command Rolling Trophy for the best performance by the first batch of class 10th in the cluster, in the academic year 2008-09.

Over the years, the school has come a long way. It has grown in strength and stature with over 600 students and 30 dedicated teachers. The School’s endeavours at faculty development through a series of workshops, various interventions and efforts to improve infrastructure and ambience are proving to be effective. Dedication, emotional involvement and relentless efforts of our teaching community in providing “Quality education at affordable cost” are laudable.

The School has established good infrastructure for imparting best education and overall development of its students. School Infrastructure includes well equipped classrooms, science laboratory, computer lab, CAL facilities, well stocked library, art & craft facilities, sports grounds and equipment.

To remove the burden on the tender shoulders and to allow children to blossom into harmoniously developed personalities, the school lays emphasis on co-curricular activities. The students of Army Public School Dhar Road have brought laurels to school by winning various Inter school competitions.
